Overview

Ditto is an all-in-one screen sharing, digital signage and on-screen alerting software solution. It runs on hardware that schools and businesses connect to TVs, projectors, interactive displays and monitors. This hardware includes Apple TVs and Windows devices.

Vivi is powered by the company's proprietary hardware boxes. Organizations connect these devices to their displays.

Ditto vs. Vivi — screen mirroring

Both Ditto and Vivi allow students, teachers and guests to wirelessly mirror device screens to larger displays with end-user applications. Both solutions enable mirroring from Apple devices, Windows devices, Android devices and Chromebooks.

Screen mirroring with room codes and Ditto Connect

How Ditto screen mirroring works

Ditto users connect and share their screens:

The Ditto user experience is the same across device types. To connect, users enter the room code displayed on the screen they want to share to. They can choose to mirror their entire device screen, an application or extend their desktop.

How Vivi screen mirroring works

Vivi users initiate screen mirroring via the Vivi app. Vivi relies on native protocols, like AirPlay and Google Cast, to establish and maintain connections. The connection process will differ based on the user’s device type. The user will need to understand how to navigate their device’s built-in screen mirroring process.

Additionally, these native screen sharing protocols require Bonjour and Multicast traffic enabled on the organization’s network.

Ditto vs. Vivi — digital signage

Ditto classroom digital signage

Ditto and Vivi both offer digital signage on their connected displays. Organizations can create, schedule and manage this signage as needed. Ditto and Vivi displays transition from signage to screen mirroring and back again as needed.

Ditto digital signage includes customizable templates, Google Slides integration, Canva integration, media uploads and web URL signage

Vivi offers customizable digital signage templates and various widgets to include with displayed signage.

Administration and scalability

Both Ditto and Vivi offer web-based applications that allow admins to manage receiver hardware, user applications, digital signage and track usage metrics.

The Ditto Account Portal is accessible from anywhere and allows you to remotely manage digital signage, screen mirroring and administration. Administrators can scale Ditto throughout an organization using various MDM solutions. This includes the ability to zero-touch deploy and configure Ditto from one central place.

Vivi admins can manage signage, users and hardware boxes inside the Vivi Central platform and administer user apps with select MDMs.
