Ditto Powers Wireless Screen Sharing at the University of Central Florida

"When we deal with wireless screen sharing, we have to consider all of the options that are out there. Faculty and students want equipment that just works, and Ditto just works." — Todd McMahon, Assistant Director of Instructional Technologies, University of Central Florida

At the University of Central Florida, classroom design goes hand-in-hand with technology to create adaptable, collaborative learning environments. Across campus, Ditto is used to power wireless screen sharing in spaces that prioritize flexibility and student engagement.

In the Business Administration building, Room 220 is designed for small group collaboration. The space includes ten displays, including a large projector screen, all powered by Apple TVs running Ditto. Students and instructors can share content to any combination of screens, making it easy to shift between full-room presentations and group work. With movable seating, the room adapts on the fly to the needs of each session.

Across campus in Classroom Building 1, the university’s sandbox classroom serves both as a testing ground and a fully operational instructional space. Outfitted with nine touch-enabled whiteboard displays — each connected to Ditto via Apple TV — this room supports complex use cases where students and instructors can wirelessly share content to one screen, many screens or all screens simultaneously. The highly flexible layout and integrated technologies make this classroom a model for interactive learning.

Additionally, instructors use mobile device stands as makeshift document cameras, placing iPads or phones in adjustable mounts, pointing them at worksheets or notes, and then instantly sharing that live video feed to the room using Ditto. It’s a simple, creative way to adapt analog materials for digital collaboration.

With Ditto, the University of Central Florida has built dynamic spaces where technology facilitates learning, sharing and interaction across campus at any scale.
