Getting Started with Reflector

Step 1: Open the DMG and drag Reflector to Applications

After opening the Reflector DMG file, you will need to drag the Reflector file into your computers /Applications folder. Reflector MUST run from this directory to prevent issues when using the application.

Step 2: Open Reflector from Applications

Double click the Reflector.app file in your Applications folder to open it. You will not see any windows appear. Reflector runs from your dock until a device is connected.

Step 3: Start a connection from your device

AirPlay mirroring is built in to supported iOS devices. Different versions of iOS have different ways of accessing the AirPlay menu.

iOS 7: Swipe up to access your Control Center. The AirPlay icon will appear beside the AirDrop icon in the second row from the bottom.

iOS 6: Double tap the home button on your device and swipe from left to right until you see the AirPlay icon. That's one swipe for iPads, and two swipes for iPhones and iPods.

Step 4: Tap the AirPlay icon, select your Mac and toggle the "Mirror" switch

Tapping the AirPlay icon will present you with a list of receivers to connect to. Locate and tap the one labeled as your Mac. A mirror switch will appear under the computer's name. Toggle this and your device should now show on your Mac's screen.

Step 1: Run the Installer

After downloading the Reflector MSI file, double click it to begin the install process.

Step 2: Accept the EULA

By accepting the EULA, you agree to the terms and conditions presented. Click continue to move on.

Step 3: Open Reflector from the Start Menu

Locate Reflector in the start menu, and click to open it. Reflector does not have any windows. It runs from the system tray until a device is connected.

Step 4: Click "Allow" in Windows Firewall alert

Reflector MUST be allowed through the Windows firewall. Please be sure to check both Private and Public networks.

Step 5: Start a connection from your device
